Overview

Administrative law disputes move across a wide range of forums, each with its own procedure, evidentiary practice, and — critically — its own limitation period for challenging an order or decision. We place particular emphasis on identifying the correct forum early, tracking these timelines closely, and adapting strategy to how each tribunal or court actually functions, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach to litigation before them.

The Firm’s administrative law practice covers disputes between individuals and the State, public authorities, and institutions — from challenges to administrative decision-making to service and employment disputes before specialized tribunals.

Areas of Practice

  • Judicial Review of Administrative Action — challenging administrative and executive decisions, orders, and policies on grounds of arbitrariness, violation of natural justice, or excess of jurisdiction
  • Service & Recruitment Matters — recruitment, promotion, seniority, disciplinary proceedings, and pension disputes involving central government employees
  • Labour & Industrial Disputes — representing employers and employees in matters of termination, retrenchment, wrongful dismissal, wages, and industrial disputes
  • Education Tribunal Matters — disputes between teaching and non-teaching staff and educational institutions, including termination and service-condition disputes
  • Other Statutory Tribunals — appearing before other specialized tribunals as the nature of a dispute requires

The Firm provides legal representation before the Delhi High Court in its writ jurisdiction over administrative action, the Central Administrative Tribunal in service and recruitment matters involving central government employees, Labour Courts and Industrial Tribunals in employment and industrial disputes, and the Delhi School Tribunal and similar bodies in education-related service matters.

The Firm is equally equipped to appear before other statutory tribunals and, where required, other High Courts across India, depending on the forum a particular dispute falls within.
